PulseSync Receives Fit for Life Award 2021 for Innovation and Impact

Singapore, 1st October 2021 – PulseSync Pte Ltd (“PulseSync”) is the first social enterprise in Singapore to receive the inaugural Fit for Life Award 2021, by Fit for Life Foundation in the annual awards event held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 29th September 2021. Of the three outstanding Laureates, PulseSync stands out from 600 worldwide applicants (from 56 countries) for its brainchild project – Gym Tonic®, recognized in driving both innovative and impactful solutions to promote life-long fitness and health around the world.

Jointly launched with Lien Foundation in 2015, Gym Tonic® is a targeted strength-training program that aims to combat frailty and sarcopenia in people over 60 years of age, helping seniors to stay strong and healthy to enjoy their golden years. To date, PulseSync has worked closely with over 30 eldercare providers to equip them with safe hydraulic exercise machines, measuring equipment, evidence-based assessments, and AI-driven software to help run Gym Tonic’s structured strength training program safely and effectively. The program has since benefited over 5,000 seniors, with most of them experiencing a 20-30% significant improvement in muscle strength which enable daily activities such as walking, stair climbing, balance, or carrying grocery bags. Furthermore, 41% of nursing home patients considered “frail” improved to “pre-frail” upon completion of the program.

“Winning this award is a great milestone for all of us in PulseSync, this award fuels our passion for impacting the eldercare sector with our innovative technology,” Ken Tan, Managing Director of PulseSync. “We are honored to have Fit for Life Foundation believing in us, having great like-minded affiliates to journey through serves as a greater encouragement for us to lead and make people age better,”

Fit for Life Award’s selection process includes 3 key stages and 10 key selection criteria. The winning factors for Laureates include driving innovative, sustainable and scalable programs which are focused on beneficiaries’ needs. In addition, the Laureates are key leaders which demonstrated both operational excellence on top of impacting with evidence. Fit for Life Award grants EUR 100,000 disbursed over three years to support scale-up efforts and promote public awareness on the importance of healthy aging for communities.
